Douglas fir is a strong and durable softwood timber and is a superb alternative to Green Oak.

There are a vast variety of colours within this cut of timber, including oranges, pinks and browns. With time and weathering, Douglas Fir will gradually turn a striking silver-grey colour and can darken considerably once cut. Please do note that Douglas is a natural product, and splits, cracks and fissures can occur during the drying process.

If you are looking for beams that contain minimal knot/ defect, it would be beneficial to ask for your timber to be strength or appearance graded. All Douglas Fir will be supplied overlength, for on-site final cutting.
